Are Academic Index Scores still being used?

I’m hoping to get some help with some research I’m doing… Does anyone know if academic index scores are still being used by admissions committees now that test-optional is so prevalent? And if so, do students who don’t submit test scores receive an AI score?

I’m sure some type of index score, based on academic inputs, is used in admissions decisions, with altered calculations based on presence or lack of SAT/ACT scores. Just like:

SAT Subject Tests were previously included in this calculation, but they have since been discontinued.

Are you talking about AI used in athletic recruiting?
