Are all post-bac programs like this?

<a href="http://www.csus.edu/prehealth/source-docs-not%20html/Postbac%20ProgramsUCDAdvisorMeeting08.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.csus.edu/prehealth/source-docs-not%20html/Postbac%20ProgramsUCDAdvisorMeeting08.pdf</a></p>

Or are there some other "regular" post-bac programs that are not social reengineering boot camps in disguise?

Summary of powerpoint:
- program accepts 15 out of 300 applicants
- 80% placement into medical schools
- average gpa accepted: 2.7

all of the UC post-bacc programs are essentially for URMs. And the vast majority of the other programs they listed are similar in that they cater to socio-economically disadvantaged students, so that powerpoint didn't really give you a good idea of whats out there for medical post-bacc programs.

Many of them are very competitive - one of Tulane's programs, for example, requires that you be waitlisted at a medical school to even apply. EVMS has a post-bacc that has only 20 people - however, they have a >85% acceptance rate with no glide year.
Georgetown has a very well known program (not the "GEMS" one they mention in that powerpoint) that has about 180 students - more than the Georgetown M1 class interestingly. AMCAS has a huge list, but the basic idea is that most post-bac programs are not like the ones at the UC's.
