Are all Yale applicants contacted for an interview?

I'm just curious. Are all Yale applicants contacted for an interview? So many apply that it would have to be nearly impossible to do. If not, how do they choose who to interview?

No... I wasn't contacted, and I got in...

There are SO many threads about this. Look at them for details.
But basically no, and it's determined based on how many interviewers live in your area and nothing else. So not getting one doesn't negatively affect your application, you shouldn't worry if you are :)

Look at the thread RD Applicants: Interview Advice. It's stickied, so it's always near the top of the Yale forum.

I never really look into the Yale thread so I overlooked the interview advice. I mostly asked because my sister said something to the affect of, 'you're probably getting interviewed because they're thinking of denying you anyway but want to throw you a bone by interviewing you.'

Thanks for explaining it.

HAHA that's so false. Don't listen to your sister (older or younger?)

i got into yale EA, and i didn't have an interview lol
but that's because apparently there is a significant lack of yale alumni in south florida

same thing in my area in ohio ^^^ although I may have been contacted and just never had time : )

wow. looks like these are optional. are they giving campus interviews anymore?
