Are Alumni Chapters Important in deciding colleges

My d has several colleges to choose from. She loves one college in particular, it is small, beautiful, the people are wonderful, academics great and it is on of the Top 10 LAC's. This college is very well known regionally but not nationally. It does not have a alumni chapter on the West Coast. Which concerns me.

Several other of the schools she has acceptance to such as Brown, Duke, and the College of William and Mary have SoCal alumni chapters.

Would this affect your decision of acceptance? If so, why or why not.

Any feedback would be helpful.

Thank You.

Heck, no! Not something I would ever have thought of to look up. But then I have nothing to do with my school's alumni, not does my H with his. Are you thinking it would be important for networking, jobs, etc?

While I am attached to my alma mater, and regularly go back for reunions, I have never had a thing to do with the regional alumni association. I don't think it should be a factor in her decision (and what great choices she has - congratulations!)

Yes, at some point I would like to have her come back home :) And the alumni network sometimes helps new grads with employment but I really do not know to what extent. Plus it is a network that is already created of professionals in your area.
