I want to get a start on the application process, but I don't want to write an essay and then find out that the prompts are changed. Thanks guys, and btw I'm a junior :D.

C’mon kid; just wait. It doesn’t take too long to write up a few essays. Little eager.

you’ll have at least half the summer to write.

You might want to re-read the diversity essay from this year and just ponder what your very unique answer might be. This is the one essay that everyone had to write about and can be the one that sets you apart…be creative and passionate here…but don’t write anything…just think about it and maybe try to find something interesting to do this summer that might give you more real life experiences to write about.

Michigan is switching next year to the common app so the essays could change from this year.

For the common app, you can write basically ANY essay.

The 2010 essay prompts are available on the admissions page of the umich.edu website

I think he is looking for the 2011 essays that will appear on a common application supplement.

essay don’t count for much in admissions unless you’re border line. Don’t worry just yet. Focus on AP exams and getting a good GPA this semester.
