Right now I'm a highschool senior, and I wonder if taking AP exams are useless next year (in my senior year), since we only get our results back in June/July after all the university apps have been returned. As I can see it, the only benefit is some extra college credits, with no benefits of a stronger college app.

Can someone verify this? Is it true that AP exams (not the courses) are not helpful in university applications if they're done in the senior year?

Thanks!!

I thought a lot of colleges don't factor AP exam scores into their admissions decision anyway. I'm sure someone else can clarify this for you.

You should still take the AP exams if you think you can score a 4 or 5. They can save you a lot of money! If everything goes according to plan (meaning I don't choke on my AP exams this May), I should graduate high school with 50+ college credits, with 30+ of those being from AP exams alone.

Oh wow! Nice! Good luck on your APs, man!

It depends on what college you are going to. Some give NO credit at all, some a limited amount, some advanced standing. It REALLY depends on where you're going to school- check out the AP policies of the specific schools you're looking at.
