I want to go from AP Physics to regular physics and then regular anatomy to honors anatomy. I'm concerned not having an AP will look back - i've had AP Bio and Chem getting B's in both. Do I need an AP for colleges to look at me?

You don’t need AP’s, but it’s a nice thing to have. Colleges want to see that you’re taking the most rigorous course load available. Taking all the AP’s and honors classes shows that.
If I were you I wouldn’t step down from AP to regular Anatomy. I believe that shows up on your transcript and it’s not a good sign.

No.

AP classes are not a necessity. I am a senior taking my first and only AP class. They are helpful but don’t go overboard.

Take it so you don’t have to in college. I only have AP Biology, my school used to have AP English and AP Calculus but they’ve been replaced by college credit classes from a local university.

and i should add that the only reason i signed up for the AP class is because that was the only way i could take 4 years of history

AP’s are not required but whether you have to take them depends on the college you want to attend. Thius year was probably the hardest insofar as admissions to college at selectrive and highly selective schools. Thisforced a lot of kids to less selective schools driving up the scores needed to get into a lot of colleges. Most colleges will want to seeyou stretched yourself taking challeging classes in comparison to others in your High School. Before you drive yourself cazy I would talk to a counselor if you have a good one and check out some of the college books on admission and look at the schools you are interested in to find out what they are looking for. I know that a bunch of kids in my older sons class got a nasty surprise not getting into their school of frist choise because they decided to take it easy in their senior year as they had worked hard in their junior year. Selective colleges don’t want to see you slack off in the last year of HS.
