Are B's first semester of senior year bad?

Hey guys so i have been wondering how heavily first semester senior grades will affect acceptance rates, particularly in regards to UC’s I am a straight A and B student with a 4.07 UC GPA. But this senior year has been stressful to maintain with the pressure of EC’s and college apps. A bit of background on my senior year classes, this forst semester i am taking AP Bio, retaking AP Human geography because i was unsatisfied with a C in the Class beforehand, taking speech and debate and have a Teacher Intern period as well. Unfortunately i am likely to get a B in AP Human Geography and Ap Bio. Will this affect my admission? My top schools are UCI UCD and UCSB.

Senior grades are not considered in admission decisions unless you receive a supplemental where 1st semester grades may be required. The rule of thumb is to try to maintain your current GPA and no D’s or F’s. The UC’s require you maintain a GPA of 3.0 weighted (3.0 unweighted for UCB/UCLA and no more than 2C’s) to keep your provisional admission.

You’ll receive a supplemental if you are borderline or the UC just wants additional information to determine whether to admit you. It is best to keep your grades high, at least the 1st semester in the senior year. If you are not asked to provide a supplemental, maintaining the minimum stated above is fine.

If you are asked for supplemental information, it will happen around January to February.
