Ok a 31 is very high in the percentile scale, as is 29 and 30 and even down to 27. Are top colleges more interested in percentiles or in scores? is a person who got a 31 in the same standing as a person with a 34?

No they are not. The score is more important, since last year out of 1.2 million students only 3729 obtained a score of 34 while 15401 students obtained a score of 31. So the score is major factor.

Those numbers make me feel stupid....

Hahaha, I love the 7 kids that score a 1...that is hilarious!!!

wow only 193 got a 36 composite

that's insanely low, doesn't it seem? the SAT is a lot more right, with perfect scores?

It is low. Here are some reasons:

1) More people take the SAT - - - so more chances of a perfect score.

2) The ACT isn't easy.

3) The ACT is made up of 4 sections (the SAT has only 3), so more times you have to achieve a perfect (or near perfect) score in order to achieve a perfect score.

yeah i havnt gotten my scores yet, but im positive i sucked. ha at least i have another shot (or 2) oh well. those percentiles are misleading. even though youd think top 95% was a good thing, most ivy applicants are in the top 99% oh well.
