Are credits by examination factored into your GPA?

Like if you got a 4 on your AP US History test, would that be a B? And then a 5 would be an A? Or is it just marked on your transcript that you have credit and no grade is given?

Same with the UT Austin Exam in Government 312L: are you given a grade based on how well you did or are you given credit for passing and no grade is given?

Thanks! :)

Credit only. No grade.

Heh is that for the part about the GOV 312L test that I edited in too?

All credit that does not come from UT will appear as a CR on your transcript. This includes classes you’ve taken at other colleges. However, if you apply to a professional school, such as a medical school, they will ask for all university-level transcripts and will incorporate them to calculate a final GPA.

Would passing the UT Austin Exam in Government 312L show up as a CR on your transcript as well?

This site answers all of your questions:
[FAQs and Contact Information Center for Teaching and Learning](http://ctl.utexas.edu/programs-and-services/student-testing-services/faqs-and-contact-information/#Placement%20and%20Credit%20by%20Exam%20Information)

So when graduate schools calculate your GPA, they would just not count any CR’s that are on your transcript?

Hah wait that was an obvious question…nevermind.
