How about… Fresno? San Bernardino? Dominguez Hills?

Never really hear much about the csu besides cuts and local ones.

Is it just me or are the just “schools” no glory, just straight education where you get a degree and go to work? Not really inferior in anyway, they have goals just like the UC’s have goals to invent something, they just want to ensure californian prosperity.

Tell me if I’m baised, but that just my opinion.

btw they are still really good schools especially SDSU

Haha stanislaus! That’s where everyone transfer to from MJC. I always wonder why these people do this. Most of them it’s finanial reasons, they have children, their parents want to save money… My friend claims they have one of the best pysch programs… Also a good percentage that goes there wants to be teachers from what I’ve gathered.

I just read through this entire thread and I’m disappointed. It seems like most of the people on here are obsessed with the prestige of the UC’s, as if they’re experts on the subject.

One person even trashed Parsons (I have no idea why) what the *****? Why even bring up a fashion school?

For those of us at the CC’s and are transferring–remember, we’re not there YET. Acting like an elitist because you have a 3.9567 at a community college and are a UCLA hopeful just isn’t acceptable to me. Remember why you’re at a CC in the first place.

Yes, okay. We get it. Going to a UC is strategically more beneficial than going to a CSU (in MOST cases). If you’ve gotten into your number one UC, just be happy with your accomplishment. Don’t crush the CSU’s like they’re garbage, because the fact of the matter is, they’re not.

We’re all *****ing lucky to be going to college anyway.

“If you graduate from a CSU you look for a job. If you graduate from a UC, jobs look for you.”

lies! 10char

“Remember why you’re at a CC in the first place.”

Enlighten me.

“Acting like an elitist because you have a 3.9567 at a community college and are a UCLA hopeful just isn’t acceptable to me.”

hahah that acceptable part was funny

@theregoesevan–Clearly you find something wrong with that statement.

Why are you at a CC?

the only CSUs worth a damn are CP SLO, CSULB, CSUF, CP Pomona, SJSU and SDSU.

there was a time when i thought CSULB was the shizzzzzz.

i was in middle school and was madly in love with Sublime. lol.

^ Ha ha ha!

Sublime <3

I was actually considering going to CSULB, I have a lot of friends who go there. Same with CSUF.

F= fullerton, not fresno.

if I was going to a CSU, it’d be for business finance. CSUF has the better business program(I’ve had people tell me I should screw going to a UC and that I should got to CSUF), but CSULB has a better overall reputation.

I’m still at the conclusion that I couldn’t have really gone wrong with either CSULB, CSUF or UCI. We’ll see how my choice pans out

UC’s don’t offer some majors that CSU’s does such as social work… That is part of my problem… Berkeleys social welfare is COMPLETELY different from any actual social work program. If I don’t get into Berk I’m going to go to humboldt state even though it is not a high ranked CSU. I got into SJSU with less than half the pre reqs completed but I would never want to go there (ewww) even though they have one of the highest ranked programs.

I wonder how many people tearing into the CSUs have actually done a couple of semesters at one? I did my frosh year at SFSU and it was a fine school. Perfectly adequate.

So I am taking Earth Science this semester and it has been fascinating, so I was just curious about what it would take to transfer as an Oceanography major at Himboldt… Effff that! You have to take bio and two part chen sequence. Cal 3. Physics. And a ton more classes… Jesus I wonder what you actually learn once you transfer. That would be a sweet major, especially since you can minor in scientific diving!

From what I hear, the geology program at SDSU is fantastic.

I have no pre reqs completed anyways but if I was going to go to a school for any of those types of majors I’d go somewhere sweet like U of Montana

@AGR
a lot of people are in CC for plenty of reasons regarding financial and personal reasons. You do realize transferring from CC is waaaay easier than straight out of high school? Personally, i studied my ass off in high school just to get rejected from everywhere so they could accept other minorities with a lower GPA and SAT scores (unless they wrote a Pulitzer-winning caliber essay, I just can’t see how some people got in).

on the topic, I don’t think csu’s are “low class”, i’m just sick and tired of CSUN always claiming they’re one of the best business schools in California…
