Are Dartmouth ED Decisions Scaring You?

But so far, no one on the list has been accepted with scores above 2250. I hope I was just being cynical(for the sake of a better world)..but also hope that I wasn't being in denial lol.

why is every one of my post jumps to where it's not supposed to..

Choklit Rain- It's just a way of coping.

People saying "I can't believe you got rejected" tend to make you feel better.

Meanwhile, I've resigned myself to my fate: rejection.

Dartmouth's been on an admissions tear (apps up 17% overall last year, up 12.5% this year for ED). Doubt people are lying.

...just started my Princeton app :(
Dartmouth was a bit of a scare and I'm gonna be on the safe side and stop procrastinating. Duke, Cornell and Lehigh come tomorrow :(( (double frown)

Awoeh;robn;b dartmouth scares me so much

this next day and a half is gonna be sooo long

I was a little suspicious that only one of the 5 2300+ scorers have gotten in so far (about). So, I looked at their previous 'chance me' threads, and all that I was able to find stayed perfectly consistent. The only possibility is that they have been lying for months now. I'm not sure why it would help them to lie in the 'chance me' threads though.

Personally, I think it is a combination of two things. One is that the # of application has been growing like crazy. 12.5% increases (so far) on top of a 17% increase on top of a 15% increase is a lot. Also, Dartmouth doesn't have THAT big of a sample of applicants that we can draw conclusions about everyone. We have the info for about 30 people, so its possible for this sample to be an anomaly. (hopefully)

I can tell you personally that as a deferred Dartmouth Applicant, I did nothing to change my scores. 35 ACT 2240 SAT.

Best of luck to all the Penn EDers. It's already a rough year. You'll be fine

only a rare few getting in out of the 2250+ SAT scorers IS very scary. but then again, we dont have a valid random sample on CC and dartmouth apps HAVE been increasing like everyone's saying...

hopefully Penn won't be so scary.

Dartmouth's were DEF scary, a friend of mine from LI with AMAZING qualifications and stuff got deferred.

But on the other hand, Brown's were looking pretty good, and from my school, 4 kids got into Cornell today and 2 to brown. None to Columbia or Dartmouths because there weren't any qualified people who applied to either. But overall, I'd say things are looking okay for us at this point.

wait i wasnt aware that dartmouth apps went up and penn's went down. is this true and did penn's go down substantially or negligibly?
