Are ECs a factor in transferring?

<p>Not as much as your GPA and essay, but yes, it certainly does. </p>

<p>A lot of it also depends on what you mean by “good uni”. Think of it this way; the single most important thing in your transcript is going to be your college grades. If you’re applying to a school that has an average transfer gpa of 3.0 and you have a 3.7+, you’re probably in barring some major hole in your transcript. However, if we’re talking elite schools, everybody applying is going to have good grades. ECs are what could seperate you from the rest of the applicant pool. If you don’t have ANY they will surely take note of that. </p>

<p>Also, not all ECs are created equal. If you’re a biochem major, nobody will care about your ventriloquism awards. Try to pick ECs relevent to your course of study.</p>

<p>And don’t write ‘clam fart’ on your application anywhere. :p.</p>
