<p>I jst received an email telling me that son's fin aid award info could be found online at school A (our local school that was a safety but hadn't been declined yet.) Looking online at school B (school he has decided to go to) it has the exact same fin aid info but they haven't notified me that it's there yet. Is it possible that there may be more to school B, especially since he will have to live away from home to go there?
Both schools are in the CSU system. The only thing on there now is a small subsidized loan amount.</p>
<p>When you filed FAFSA did you put 'living on campus' as an answer to question 97 for both schools? If so both schools will have based their financial aid offers on the assumption he will be living on campus. (On campus COAs are usually higher than the COA for a student living at home). You can check on you SAR to see what you/he entered if you are not sure.</p>
<p>Thanks, I just checked and school A does have him as living at home while school B has living on campus. I just didn't know if it would change since I can see the fin aid info in both school's portals and they are the same at this time. I'll wait through this week and then maybe call school B's office to ask about it.
He is getting very excited about this school as we (or should I say he) just spent yesterday meeting with advisement and registering for classes. I just drove. Then we checked into guest housing in the family apartments on campus and went to a musical on campus. 3 hour drive each way and I'm tired but it was fun.</p>
