I am a junior in high school right now and will be taking 3 courses: Calc II (equivalent to Math 31B), Principles of Econ 1 (Microecon), and Political Science on US gov over summer at a local community college. Will grades that I get in these classes going to be factored into my UC gpa? I have heard that the ELC process is done over the summer and my community college grades will probably be submitted on fall when senior year begins.

If it does get factored in, are they weighted with an extra point like UC-approved honors classes? And are they factored in all three UC gpa's (unweighted, weighted (no cap), and weighted (8 semesters honors cap))?

Under the fully weighted gpa section, it says

"This GPA includes an extra grade point for all UC-approved honors courses (which include AP, IB, school-based honors, and transferable college courses) in which a grade of C or higher is earned. The maximum value possible is 5.00."

But the thing is I am taking the classes after 11th grade (summer before senior year). So will it still not count towards my UC gpa? If I had taken these courses in summer before junior year, would it have been factored into my UC gpa?

Because you are applying as a Senior in high school, it is factored into that GPA. It wont be included when you get in and take classes, it will just count as unit credit.

So when you apply, it will count towards the GPA in your application.

so will take a lot actually lower gpa even if u get an A...for example u already take ur 8 UC capped honors courses and get all A's and then an A in a community college class, will that lower your gpa?

laserbase, yeah I think it lowers your UC HS gpa because of the 8 semesters cap. But it does bring up your weighted and unweighted gpa's if you get A's in community college classes.
