Are interviews (for a legacy) helpful?

I am getting mixed messages on whether interviews are helpful.

My son is the grandson of a NE graduate. We were told at an info. session last spring that this qualifies him as a legacy and therefore, he can request an interview. However, when I look at the admissions website, it does not mention legacy interviews and I get the impression that they are not promoting any interviews.

Any thoughts on whether interviewing is beneficial?

thanks

I have never heard of Northeastern doing evaluative interviews

The legacy interviews last year were conducted by NEU students that are on human resources coop. I personally think it hurt my second kid just because the girl/woman that interviewed her was clearly a student (trained) but very rigid/intimidating. My D as well as many other legacy were accepted into NUin even kids with stellar stats. I could be totally wrong on this but I got the impression that if you were legacy, fit their profile, and were not in the top 25% you were accepted into NUin.

Not important.
