are ipods useful at Berkeley?

do many students use their ipods to download lectures from internet or recording lectures (with ipod attachment)?

I don't know about downloading lectures onto your ipod, but I hear there's a website where you can view a lot of lectures for big popular classes. You know, in case u sleep in or forget to go to class or something :)

keke i heard about this...it was on some other campus though...harvard or something

podcast lectures? Yes there is!

No, iPods are not useful at Berkeley. You see, there's an anti-iPod forcefield around the campus (known as hippies.) Said forcefield (the annoying hippie 3000), does not directly cause iPod malfunction. Instead, a constant buzzing in your ear (otherwise known as the "don't you know that capitalism is evil" whine) will eventually cause you to not bring your Pod to school.*

*Author's note: I have never attended Berkeley. However, every time I visited, someone would either lecture me about my capitalist ways, or how I should instead have bought a "non-name brand" MP3 player.

EVERY TIME.

I have an mp3 player with a built in voice recorder I sometimes used before I got senioritis. I makr the parts of a lecture I doze off at and usually use the voice file to check back on what was said. I would definitely consider such a tool a supplement rather than replacement of the real thing.

does a voice recorder really help in college?

Helpful, but not necessary.
