Are Ivies really worth it?

I'm a rising senior looking into fairly unusual majors, so LACs are mostly out of the picture. However, there are a number of universities that fit me, including some Ivies. I really couldn't care less about the prestige, and the fact that Ivies give out no scholarships whatsoever bothers me. Are Ivies really "worth it," or is it better to go to a "lesser" school with a good scholarship (e.g. Michigan, NYU, etc.)? I plan on going to grad school. The quality of the major at the schools on my list is roughly equal for each- I'm asking about the overall quality of the schools.

honestly, i don't know if any ivy is worth it. it really depends. If you live in north carolina, michigan, california, wisconin, etc, it really does not make sense to dish out soooo much more money for an ivy or an ivy caliber school when you can get the same education at 1/3 of the price. However, i think harvard, yale, princeton may be worth the extra cash...

This is a good thread on your topic from a couple of days ago:

Check out the Morehead scholarship at UNC.

Also keep in mind that you can't really talk about "the Ivies" as a block. Several of them have huge endowments and offer lots of undergraduate funding for research, internships, and travel.
