Are letters of recommendation absolutely necessary for law school admissions assuming that I have a (very) solid GPA and LSAT?

Yes. Most schools require LORs, and some schools like Boalt count your PS and LORs as 1/3 of the admission decision.

I think just about every school requires a couple of them, but they virtually never have an impact. People generally just ask a couple professors whose classes they did well in to write letters.

Sigh. Hopefully my lack of social skills/ability to form interpersonal relationships doesn’t ruin my law school aspirations.

Are you respectful to your professors? Did you produce high quality work in their courses?

If so, you should be fine.

In other words, if your LOR’s are just ok, but not impressive, having a strong GPA/LSAT will overcome it for 99% of schools.
