Since I got in as an Mechanical Engineering major, the only community that would fit my interests (of my major) is the Michigan Research Community.
Or does that matter?
Also, is it good to joing communities?
And if I do join the Michigan Research Community, what housing do I get?

Thanks for your help!

bump!
I heard from someone who attends U of M that MLCs are not that worth it. They said just join clubs and such.
Is that true?

UROP?

it's not really a community

Do it

special housing (LHSP gets you huge single rooms)-I applied for housing like 3 weeks before school started and i got an amazing single (bigger than every other ****ing single in every other dorm)

you get to know more people and develop great relationships with them

Eg. I took photography class and I met some friends and now I still take photos with them on breaks

HEY i was JUST wondering about the same thing..

Im also a Mechanical Engineering major and was wondering which MLC's i could join because many people were saying its a great way to transition into college. but with my major i didnt see any that really fit besides UROP in Residence.

My question is can I join LHSP (writing/arts community)? I love the arts and would like to join Lloyd Hall too. What do you do as part of a MLC?? do you have to take certain classes?? do you have timely meetings?? do you have to WRITE? thanks
