Are most of my school reaches?

I'm an senior in TN

ACT-30
AP classes-junior year: APLAC (4); senior year: AP Bio and AP lit (my school offers about 7 AP classes)
GPA-3.73 UW (my school does not do weighted GPAs)(also, I've made straight As this semester so my gpa and rank will be going up)
Class Rank-81/452

Extracurricular Activities:
-3 years of Key Club (2 yrs being a chairman/officer)
-3 years of Spanish Club (1 yr of being historian)
-2 years of French Club
-National Honors Society
-National Art Honors Society
-Beta Club
-Model UN
-This year I'm setting up National French Honors Society right now so I just put it in my additional info section on the common app

My Senior Class Schedule:
AP Bio
Physics honors
AP Lit
Art 2
Pre-Cal Honors
Psychology Honors
French 3 Honors

I haven't read any of my recommendation letters so I can't really say anything about them but I've worked very hard on my common app and supplemental essays. I have taken every honors class/adv honors class possible throughout my high school career if that means anything. I'm also a hispanic who will be the first in family to go to college.

I'm applying to:
-Tufts University (was accepted to go to the Voices of Tufts diversity weekend and applying ED II)
-University of Southern California
-Vassar College (forwarded my questbridge app even though I was a non-finalist)
-George Washington University (visited and had an alumni interview)
-University of Richmond
-Vanderbilt University
I already got accepted into my state school (University of TN-Knoxville)

I just want to know which of these schools are my reaches/matches/targets

Tufts, USC, Vanderbilt: Reach
Vassar, GWU, Richmond: Match
Your ECs are very varied and strong, but your class rank might set you back a bit depending on the type of school you’re coming from. Good luck!

Thanks! I know my class rank is definitely my weakness but hopefully colleges will see that some of the people in my school have 4.0s but have taken only standard classes…my guidance counselor told me that’s why have 20 valedictorians this year!

Your class rank and ACT score are going to set you back a lot. Also, I disagree with thecollege1, and I don’t think your ECs are particularly outstanding. But you have good chances at Vassar, GWU, and Richmond. Being Hispanic and lower-income definitely does help though.

Best of luck to you! I’m also from TN; what part of the state are you from?

Thanks for your input too! I’m from murfreesboro right by MTSU. And you?

To be safe, I would apply to some schools ranked slightly lower in the rankings.

I would say that most of these schools are reaches, given your relatively low class rank

Also, I agree that you ECs are nothing particularly specail.

@4205145: Cool. I have some friends there. I’m up north in Williamson County.
