^actually I’ve seen quite a few of this kid’s posts and he seems like quite a humble guy, I have never seen him saying that he was going to get into every college
I call BS on your statement

Lmao. Woops… my fault. Didn’t read that bit. So your application is flawless then.
I was trying to tell the OP that he shouldn’t be so cocky and defensive. We all know he’s incredible, including him, lol.

"^well you havent seen his other posts. "

O.O. Isn’t this the guy who made that post about the best stats and stuff? IMO at least, it felt like this thread was about bragging more than anything else.
Anyways, I’m not going to argue with you guys lol. OP, you is a winnur. We is all fail compared to you (except not).
I gave you my two cents, I hope you consider em.
Peace.

^yes hes the one that made that post about best stats, and he also made some other ones…that was kinda my point…also it seems like with this post also…but i was actually trying to encourage him to concentrate on his essay and stuff…definelty not get into this argument.

Haha I go and grab a snack and then I come back to this…Anyways I definitely do appreciate your help everyone and I have no intention to argue with any one of you.

I definitely do appreciate all of your advice and I am sorry if I came across as “cocky and defensive.” I did not create this thread to boast (anyways I have not accomplished anything “boast worthy”), I simply created this thread because I had a legitimate concern regarding multiple passions, as my counselor told me that colleges looked down upon applicants who had more than one passion. I definitely do not believe that I will end up in a top 10 school, but definitely would love to end up at a school like Cal or LA, I’m sorry if I seemed cocky, that’s definitely not how I roll.

Yes, I am the guy that made the thread about best stats, it was a legitimate thread in which I was trying to find the best stats CC had ever seen, I never posted my own stats nor did I say I had the best stats, I simply wanted to discover what the best stats ever on CC were. I don’t see how I engaged in “bragging” by doing that, once again forgive me if you feel that way. Although I can’t exactly call your comments and general attitude amiable I’m not one to argue.

And yet I fail to see how that makes me cocky…Anyways I really appreciate all of your advice, thank you for your help. Although I wasn’t asking for college chances, I will definitely heed your advice when I’m applying to college.

Overall, I think I posted this thread in the wrong sub-forum, I didn’t want to be “chanced” but wanted to know if multiple passions were detrimental, I reposted my question in a different forum and was able to get my answer. Thanks to everyone who provided me with their time and assistance!

I saw that thread as well and fail to understand how it was cocky…if you read the thread, he made it quite clear that:

Now if you take a look at HSL back during that time, you would be able to understand his reasoning, people constantly made references to how he was so smart, etc and it obviously annoyed him.

Thanks for trying to clear things up Allexas, I really appreciate your help.

No problem dude. Good luck!

Dude, you got some mega awesomeness going on in your resume, one of the best I’ve ever seen on CC! Great job, at this rate you’ll get in wherever you want!

Thanks! Does any one else have any more advice for improvement?

Nope, you’re looking solid, just keep on doing what you’re doing.

DataBox, you don’t need any more advice or encouragement.

Many, many people on CC are now aware of how inferior their applications are, and you know that we know (lol) that you have some of the best stats of anyone to post on CC.

You KNOW that you have very good chances at almost any school to which you apply. Don’t doubt yourself (or kid yourself, for that matter).

Thanks for the advice, I’d love to think that. However, I personally don’t think I’m at that level yet and there is always room for improvement!

Don’t waste your money applying to Merced.

The simple answer to your question is no. Have as many passions as possible. Love what you do. If colleges won’t accept you because you’re “too passionate”, then the hell with them. In the long run, college isn’t a huge deal. As long as you have that diploma, you’re a college graduate just like everyone else. Go somewhere that’s gonna let you explore your passions, not limit you.

Well I was applying to Merced because it is a good school that I have a decent shot of getting in.

Thanks, that’s wonderful advice, I totally agree with you! =)

ThisCouldBeHeaven is right.
Don’t waste your time applying to UCMerced.
It’s basically a lot of people’s safety school, considering it has like a 70% acceptance rate.
It’s one of those schools that many SoCal kids laugh at.
You wouldn’t really enjoy it much. It’s known for having all of those rejected kids that just end up smoking pot all day.
Sorry if I offended any Merced students, but that’s what high schoolers know the school as.
