Are my admissions chances still good

So far in my high school career As of junior year my cumulative gpa from freshmen year and sophomore year is 3.59 and if my calculations are correct with my junior year added it will be 3.54 but my weighted will be 4.1. Can I redeem my grades my senior year by doing better then 4 or 5 A’s and 4 or 3 B’s out of 8 classes by doing even better then that and taking more so classes (4 exactly I’m currently taking 3)? Is senior year really that useless no matter how hard you try to work will my other 3 years of high school be the ones admission pay that class too.

It depends on the school. In general, if you really bring up your grades first semester senior year, it can be extremely favorable. Take the most difficult classes that you can still get an A in. If I read your post correctly and you’re currently taking 3 classes, you will need to do a lot of work to add in another class AND improve your grades at the same time.

Is senior year useless? Yes and no. Colleges see what courses you are taking. If they see AP AP AP that tells them one thing, but if they see College Prep, CP, CP that tells them something else. But if you applied ED, you might apply in November and find out if you are admitted even before you have a senior year grade. Other colleges you apply in january and find out in March and they will see first semester grades.

Take classes of interest, challenge yourself, and do the best you can. THere are 3000 colleges in the USA…there is one for you.

Thank you and wow I never thought about it that way thank you @bopper

Senior year isn’t useless except for those for whom high school is only about gaming good grades for college.
