<p>That is a very competitive course load. Almost all As with a minimum number of Bs should see you right. But sweetie, you just finished 8th grade. SATs? ACTs? You don’t take those until Junior year. You won’t even take the PSAT until you are a Sophomore. Stanford doesn’t even consider your freshman year in admissions. So while you should keep up the grades, remember that they aren’t everything. Colleges want to know what you do for fun. You are going to want/need to volunteer, to join clubs, maybe even found one. Getting yourself set up in high school - joining clubs, trying new activities, making friends - that is what this year is all about. Make the most of it - don’t just be a A-producing machine.</p>
