Hi! I’m entering my junior year this year and was wondering if my extracurriculars are good enough.
- field hockey (jv freshman year, varsity for the rest) we make it to sectionals but we lose there.
- debate, ethics, mock trial. We always seem to get second for everything but this year I'm hoping (and know we have a really good chance) of winning first in ethics.
- being a volunteer teacher to young kids learning the punjabi language (letters, reading, writing). I have over 90 volunteer hours from freshman and sophomore year.
- this year, I'm planning to make a makeup&fashion club with my friend. It's really just an interest I have but I'm planning to do a "fashion show", create a social media page, and if we fundraise enough, to donate to charities against animal testing in cosmetics.
- I'm planning on joining my school's leadership council and I already have ideas on how to make our school more inclusive and how to reduce bullying.
- I'm also planning on volunteering with my local ambulance corps.
- I've reached out to a local campaign and will be volunteering with them.
- Also, would colleges care if I love to write (let's say if I wrote a novel, for example), even if I was never published?
I have some more but these would be the most important. I have a 4.0 GPA and I have not yet taken the SAT. I take all AP/Honors/College classes. My top schools I’m looking at are Northeastern, Georgetown, Boston U, and Brown, but Northeastern is really my dream school. I’m planning to major in political science.
