Are my extracurriculars good enough?

I am going to be a senior. Considering that my grades and SAT scores are solid, will the following activities help me stand out when I apply to colleges? Any suggestions as to what else I can do?

Sports:

Cross Country
Indoor Track
Outdoor Track

Clubs:

Academic Challenge Team (Captain and Club Co-President)
Habitat for Humanity
Link Crew (Freshman Transition Program)
National Honor Society
National Spanish Honor Society
Peer Tutoring
School Newspaper
Student Government (Senior Class Representative)
Video Yearbook Club (Senior Class Editor)

My first choice is Columbia University.

What do you guys think?

Honestly, to me that looks good.

I'm sure there's better oppinions out there though.

What are you interested in? Build your application around that, and highlight areas in your ECs that reflect that.

Just keep doing what you've been doing. Unless you can somehow cure cancer before applications are due, it may look like you're just adding things on for the sake of college admissions.
Besides, your ec's are fine.

thanks guys

Make sure to visit, in other words make sure Columbia knows you're interested in them.

yup i visited columbia in april, and i'm going again in august for a summer program so yeah... the problem i had with my list of extracurriculars is that i thought it was too diverse, but i guess if i just do what Ealgian said then i should be fine... my two main interests are running and quiz bowls...

ECs are good. Like 7 on a scale of 1-10. (and 8-10 range is some exemplary)

You sound like a very good candidate--I agree with Ealgian's suggestions. Make sure your application reflects who you are, like if an adcom read your application and then met you, they would "recognize" the individual they read about! Hope this makes sense!

it does, thanks a lot!
