Are my grades/extra curriculars enough to get into competitive colleges? Specifically UCLA?

Right now I am in 12th grade, but my grades have not been calculated into my entire GPA so this is what I have so far:
I have a GPA of 4.08 (W) and 3.84 (UW) if you count 9th-11th grade.
I have a GPA of 4.25(W) and 3.75 (UW) if you count 10th-11th grade.
SAT: 1040 (first try), 1110(second try)
ACT: 21 (first try), 22(second try)
I got a 3 on my AP ENGLISH LANG AND COMP Exam, and a 2 on my AP Euro and APUSH Exam.

Extra Curriculars:
9th Grade: Just Volleyball and Badminton (though I quit in the beginning when I realized that I was not interested in it).

10th Grade: I did Volleyball again, and was a part of Key Club. I also joined my school’s choir program (which takes place of 1-2 classes depending on the level).

11th Grade: I gave up and entire summer and some more for Volleyball conditioning but did not make it on the Varsity team (I was really devastated). I also was a part of Key Club again and this year I joined CSF (once I realized what it was). I also did French Club and got elected to be the historian (unfortunately the Club was canceled after we lost our advisor since a club cannot exist in our school without an advisor). I also did NHS and was an active member. Besides this, I joined a program on my school (which we have to take in place of 2/8 classes of each school year) which is called Conflict Mediation where we help students who are suicidal, struggling in school, have a tough home life and have been getting fights, this programs is only for selected 11th and 12th graders. During the same time, I was also still part of the Choir Program.

12th: Again, I gave up my summer and a trip to Pakistan so that I can become better at volleyball and hopefully get in again, I guess that was not in my future as I did not make it on the Varsity team again :(. I also became a historian for Key Club and treasurer of NHS. I plan on doing soccer (hopefully if I get in—this is because I truly want to try it—not because I am trying to put it on my college app). I also am still in the Conflict Mediation Program. I am debating doing Choir for the next semester as my Choir teacher has left and I am unsure of who the new teacher will be—and how they will teach.

Besides this: My dad also holds a thing where kids who are Muslims and are in the process of learning the Quran (how to read it in Arabic and understand what it means), and being his daughter, I assist him (and have assisted him for more than 8 years) in helping the kids and mentoring them. We meet Mon-Sat. I also took 3 college classes (9 units) in the summer before 12th grade. Out of those 9 units, only 6 counts for UC credit.

AND, I am a first generation student who was new to the school district Freshmen year so I did not know anyone and did not have any knowledge of classes and clubs. Plus, the school would not allow me to take honors courses because I came from a different district and some of the classes did not transfer—so they wouldn’t let me go into advanced classes until my transcript showed that I had done the basic classes for it first.

Also, outside of school, I love doing photography and tend to be the one doing it for alot of events that are held.

Please be honest with your response and if I can do anything besides what I have done to stand out.

I forgot to mention, I am a makeup lover and love to do that in my free time…(if this info helps lol)

The UC’s have their own GPA calculation so is your 10-11th GPA weighted the UC capped weighted GPA?

If not, here is the calculator: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Although EC’s are important, UCLA considers your UC GPA, test scores, HS course rigor and personal insight essays Very Important.

UC’s only use 10-11th grades in their GPA calculation. 12th grades will keep you provisional admission and 9th grades are reviewed to make sure you have completed your a-g courses.

What is your intended major?

You want honesty, your test scores are very low for the majority of the California UC’s and especially UCLA.

UC stats:
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:

UCB: 12.6%
UCLA: 11.7%
UCSD: 38.7%
UCSB: 53.6%
UCD: 56.5%
UCI: 52.1%
UCSC: 75.7%
UCR: 90.1%
UCM: 96.1%

2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCB: 4.23
UCLA: 4.23
UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
UCD: 4.11
UCSC: 3.96
UCR: 3.81
UCM: 3.71

2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCB: 1360-1540

UCLA: 1340-1540
UCSD: 1300-1520
UCSB: 1270-1500
UCD: 1220-1480
UCI: 1230-1490
UCSC: 1210-1450
UCR: 1130-1380
UCM: 1020-1280

25th - 75th percentiles for ACT:
UCB: 30-35
UCLA: 31-35
UCSD: 28-34
UCSB: 28-34
UCD: 26-33
UCI: 26-33
UCSC: 26-32
UCR: 22-30
UCM: 19-26

Although the UC’s are very GPA focused, the mismatch with your grades and test scores is concerning. Your EC’s will not overcome your low test scores for competitive schools unless you are a recruited athlete for soccer? Around 10% of UCLA students had test scores in your range.

You have until December for the UC’s to bump up your test scores and I suggest you get some test prep if you want to be competitive.

Best of luck and try to find schools where your test scores put in the 50th percentile. Check the common dataset for all schools of interest.

You might want to consider some test optional schools instead: http://fairtest.org/university/optional
