Hello all. This is my first post in this discussion board. I'll get a little less serious with my posts a little later, but now, I've got to clear some doubts -

I scored 2020 in SAT 1. Ugly, I know.
600 - Critical Reading
750 - Math
680 - Writing

I scored 800 in both my SAT 2 tests (Math Level 2C and Chemistry). I've applied to MIT, Caltech, Stanford and Yale.

I am an international student who aspires to become a chemical engineer. Financial Aid is important for me. Could you tell me what my chances are to get into the universities of my choice (based only on my SAT scores), under reduced education fee?

Based ONLY on SAT scores, and not including other factors that may help your applications, your scores seem a little on the low side for those schools, though no outrageously so. If you can, you might want to get a higher writing score, which is easier to get up in short notice than CR. You may want to try to perfect your math score, though there is never a 100% guarantee that you will get it. Plus, isn't this your second post? :)

Unfortunately, your chance of getting in is low. Especially because you're an international and those are some of the toughest schools in terms of acceptance rates. But everything else factors in too.

There are many test prep courses out there you should try. Kaplan, princeton review you can get software or an actual class. I have heard good things about PrepMe - cheaper than the others and includes tutors from Stanford and other top schools on your list. PrepMe - Premium Online SAT, ACT, PSAT Test Prep

Remember - admissions officers look at a lot of other factors too, not only test scores. I read that MIT a.officers just skim the test score section. That being said, I feel that it is very hard to judge if you are going to make it into those schools are not. If your essays and ECs are good, you'll do fine :) Anyways, you did excellent on your SAT IIs.

Impress the admissions committees with the rest of you applications and you will be fine. I was admitted to one of those universities with a lower end score as well... its your personality that needs to show in the rest of the application, especially the essay. As an international applicant, you can truly let them know who you are through the essay.

tka, for chemical engineering, there are many other good schools than the four on your list. In fact, I am not sure Yale, Stanford, or even Caltech for that matter are the right schools for chemical engineering. One you shall look at is University of Minnesota.

sorrry, but they're a little low for mit and yale and such. but maybe they'll find redemption in that you got perfect scores on math iic and chem, that is not an easy feat.

well those subject tests are a HUGE plus but i dont think youll get into those places because perfection is mediocre at those schools but if its not too late apply to top notch non-ivy status schools like university of rochester or rice or tulane, these are very respectable schools but the admissions stats arent quite so perturbing
