Are my scores good enough?

Hey, I was wondering if my scores for the subject tests are good enough? I took chemistry, math level 1, and US History and I got 760, 660, and 650 on them respectively. I know the Math Level 1 and U.S. History exams need work but are they good scores for a first try? I should note that I plan to apply to competitive schools

@xxpjcorrra What is a “competitive” school to you?

With Math 1, you’re top ~70%, and you missed ~12/50 questions.

If you ask me, take Math 2 next time. You’ll have to work about 6-8 minutes faster and the content is a bit harder, but the curve will make up for that if you study and prepare. I took both this month and the difficulty wasn’t too different from that of Math 1.

@MrAustere An Ivy League or a place like JHU

And @Hermit9 I didn’t take Math 2 because I heard there was calculus on it and I still haven’t taken it. I took precaclulus but I didn’t feel ready enough

There’s no calculus on it. I took it without calculus and without statistics.

Your Chemistry score is fine. If you want to apply to those schools, you’ll need a 750+ score, and on Math 1 it’s just too hard. I missed 2 and only got a 770.

As far as US History, about 1/2 of Ivy League or similar schools only require a math subject test and a science subject test. There are a handful that require a third subject test. If you plan on applying to one of these colleges, I’d retake US History. If not, don’t bother.

@xxpjcorrra The Math 1 and USH are pretty low to contend at those schools. Have you tried using the Academic Index calculator?

Your math I is very low, considering the score and that it is the easier of the two maths. I would retake and keep in mind the more generous curve for math II if you could take that
