Are my scores respectable for schools like Stanford + Ivies?

Ok so here are my stats:
Critical Reading 700
Math 770
Writing 730
Total: 2200

So far the only three uber-reach schools on my list are Stanford, Yale and Brown.

Should I retake or are my scores fine the way they are? Is it safe to say that if I get rejected at these schools that it won't be because of my SAT scores?
Because I feel critical reading might be a tad low and barely makes the 25th percentile for Yale.

Any thoughts?

My daughter had a 2290 last year and was turned down at Brown. :( Your SAT is better than "fine" for most top schools, but with the Ivies you just never know.

Well, they're all at least 700, which sort of seems to be the 'cut-off'...they should be fine, in the middle 50% for each of those schools (though the reading is on the lower end)

Your ECs, grades, and essays matter more at this point -- your scores won't be what keep you out
Good luck :)

I thought 750 is the cutoff which makes a 2250. I really don't think SATs will make or break anyone and ivies are unpredictable. i would say, yours is fine

Those SATs are not going to keep you out of any schools. Of course they are not outstanding and they will not get you in, but they are not going to harm you. Even if you are only 25th percentile, you should remember that 25% of teh school had lower scores, and yet still made it. The SATs, as long as they are fairly high, are unimportant in applications. You need great stats all around.

There is no "cutoff." Admissions are holistic.

It wouldn't hurt to retake if you were so inclined. If you got a 730 on writing, you can just as well get an 800 (it's the same simple grammar concepts over and over for MC, as you know). Your CR score does seem on the lower side but it won't keep you out. But retaking is not absolutely necessary if you don't feel like it.
