Are my scores too low?

Hey I was wondering if my scores were too low for UMich...I am going to apply to Ross.

SAT I: 2010 (610CR 750M 650W)
SAT II: Chem 800 Phys 800 MathIIC 800

GPA: 3.7UW out of 4.0.

Do you think I still have some chance being that my SAT I is low?

Do colleges see SATII as the same weighting or lower/higher than the SATI?

Thank you!

You have a chance. How good of a chance is hard to say. The GPA is borderline. The SAT I is OK but not off the chart. They won’t give much if any consideration to SAT II. It’s worth applying.

It’s worth applying for sure, especially if you have good course rigor and extra-curriculars. But don’t get your hopes up about being accepted to Ross preferred admission.

Your scores are fine for LSA. Overall, I would say a reasonable reach if you are OOS or a match/reach if your are in-state. The average GPA and SAT for Ross who are accepted as preadmits is over 3.8 and 1500 (out of 1600), so I would say your chances at Ross preadmit are not good at all, but once at Michigan, if you maintain a high GPA (over 3.6), the odds of getting into Ross after freshman year are good.

As far as subject tests go, Michigan does not require them, so they are obviously not that important to Michigan. Most universities assign more weight to the SAT than to the SAT II, but some weigh them about the same.

I agree with Alexandre. You have a decent/good change for LSA, but no real chance for pre-admission into Ross.

I’d say go for it; if your ECs are good, you sound like a good candidate for LSA!

Sorry but is 1720 waay too low for michigan?

@Deathliga
It’s lower than the scores of the bottom 25% of Mich students, so yes.

You’ve started a new chance thread under eight or nine schools. Can you just start one for all these schools under the chance me section of cc? It’s kinda annoying…

But anyways, you have a decent shot at most of these schools as long as your ecs, essays, and class rank make up for your slightly low sats and gpa. I know that michigan is initially pretty objective when looking at stats so your gpa may hurt you if you’re OOS.

Good luck! =)
