You might have high enough ACT to get a minority scholarship, I'm not sure how high it has to be, it's like 21 or 22 I think. To get a regular freshman academic scholarship though you have to have at least a 27 and that is just the cut-off. My friend had a 28 and she only got 1,250 a year.

so they give out merit scholarships based on ACT/SAT scores only? i got 2010 (1360 without writing) which is like 30 on the ACT scale.. and im out of state. how would that work?

taffy and peck, I think you would both get scholarships. I had a 30 on the ACT and I got a freshman academic scholarship for tuition and the freshman presidential scholarship for $5,000 (you have to have a 30 ACT to apply for that last one). You must have a 3.0 gpa also, but if you're getting that high on the ACT/SAT I'm sure you have that.

If either of you think you might also be eligible for a pell grant, I would suggest applying for that too. After everything was over, I ended up with extra scholarship money that I got refunded to me and I can spend that pretty much how I like (living expenses, you know).

are test scores the only factor in scholarships? also, since im out of state, i guess that 5k will bring me down a little so the price isnt crazy high

Test scores are the major factor, yes. GPA counts a bit (it's 3.0 for the regular academic scholarships, it might be higher for the presidential). The $5,000 is just the presidential scholarship, with a 32 I think you'd get it, you have to write a short essay for this one though. The freshman academic is at least a 27 act and a 3.0 gpa. Again, with a 32, you would probably get this. You have to apply to Auburn by Dec 1 to be considered for this though. The presidential is a separate application and is due sometime in January. This would make it approximately $10,000; I'm sure that'd help you out a whole lot for out-of-state costs. What state do you live in?

Oh wow, such a long way! I live about 30 minutes away from Auburn, lol. There's a girl in my dorm that is from Colorado, though. And there's a girl a couple doors down that I think might be Australian from what I've spoken to her.

Although the majority are from Alabama here, around 35% are from out-of-state (I assume many of those are from like GA, FL, TN, etc)
