Are my stats too low to get a Masters?

<p>I ended up graduating with a 2.95 GPA and a major GPA of 2.7 to 2.9 depending on if you count classes taken at CC in major. No research but the school is a top 5 geology program.</p>

<p>Is there even a point in taking the GRE and trying to get into grad school?</p>

<p>Hope is not completely lost. There are low tier grad schools out there with 2.75 or 2.5 GPA cutoffs; but, you will be unable to apply to the bulk of graduate schools, which generally require a 3.0 GPA minimum to apply. I’d take the GRE and see what happens.</p>
