Are Non-Honors Students Comfortable in Honors Dorms?

I keep reading that there are kids living in the honors dorms who are not in any of UT's honors programs. After reading about the different dorm choices, the atmosphere in the honors dorms sounds like a good fit for my D. Can someone tell me: Are the non-honors kids looked down on in any way? Will they fit in? Is there any reason she would feel uncomfortable living in the honors dorm if she is not in an honors program? Thanks--

If she could get a room in one of the honors dorms, no one would care if she was in honors or not. The kids don’t particularly know what honors programs the other kids on their floor are in, or when there are roommates with one in honors and one not, no one knows which is or which isn’t, or no one cares. (Her best bet for getting into the honors dorms is to have an honors roommate.)

Hmmm…well, we paid the $50 deposit fairly early (early November, I think) so I assume it is simply a question of whether or not she is “approved” to live in Honors? I’m not sure what is entailed in getting approved. I gather they look at her application? Grades and so forth? We don’t know anyone to ask for a roommate, so she is on her own.

She probably won’t get into the honors quad if she’s not in an honors program. It’s hard to get into the honors if you are in an honors program.

It sounds like some people get in who aren’t honors. How do they do it?

They are probably living in the Honors Quad because their roommate is in the Honors program, and they chose to write down each others’ EID to be able to room with one another. Which I might be doing, myself, haha.
