<p>I understand its one thing if the class you're taking online is not offered at your school or perhaps you didn't have room to take this class in your regular schedule. A lot of people say online classes are easier than taking the class at school so do colleges look down upon taking upper level courses like APs online?</p>
<p>Each educational institution makes its own decision regarding on-line courses. I imagine much will depend on which on-line course you take and whether you receive a grade in the course and a transcript. EdX, for example, does not give grades or transcripts, just certificates of mastery, so I’m not sure how a college admissions office would view that.</p>
