Are online courses looked down upon?

Hi!

I have recently completed an online economics 12 course and I was planning to use it towards university. I also heard that certain universities look down on such online courses and was wondering if it were true? Since, I from BC, there so happens to also be a teachers strike, so I was considering to enroll for online English 12. Is this a good idea that I am taking 2 online courses and planning to submit them as an accepted course? Also, are schools such as UBC, Western, and McGill going to look down upon it?

Thank you!

I guess it would depend on who provided the course. If you took an economics course and then took the AP Micro or Macroeconomics test, you may be able to use that toward a university. The college would have to accept the course and taking a known test like AP will help do that. If you can’t do that, then contact the colleges and ask before you take them.
