Are online degrees too easy to cheat on?

My problem with online degrees is it is way too easy to cheat. You can get other people to do your work for you online. I’m not talking about just UOP, but also regular community colleges who have online degrees. How can you ensure no cheating online? It’s almost impossible.

My online college has a final course: “senior seminar.” Maybe the tests there are proctored Also, why would anyone want to “Fake” a degree? If you don’t have the --skills–, then your prospective employer will see it. I wouldn’t cheat like that because I’m intelligent enough to do the work myself. If somone’s not intelligent enough, or is seriously dishonest… I don’t see a degree benefitting them much.

^ you are giving people way too much credit

Proper schools which offer a couple of online degree options or even some indy studies courses normally have strict rules about proctoring tests.

Other schools have tests and whatnot timed rather heavily online.

Then you have some schools which have proctored, timed, online tests.

I’ve taken both online and on-campus courses at a large state university. Mid-terms and finals were proctored for the online courses. Since they were worth a large portion of the final grade, a student likely wouldn’t pass the course with a “C” or better unless he/she knew the material.

I really don’t see how cheating in an online course is any easier than cheating in a traditional classroom setting. In regards to traditional courses, have you ever taken a final exam in a large lecture hall with 50-100 students? I have, and I don’t remember seeing proctors checking ID’s before students turned in the exam.

I appreciate your, like, “testimony” there remlingerj
