Are practice ACT's good prediction of your real score?

Here's what I got around out of every practice sections I've taken
Math: 30-34
English: 27-29
Science: 29-29(:X always cant solve 3 questions)
Reading: 26-28
Composite: 28-30

Of course I'm going to practice more. My aim is for 32+ Composite. But I was just wondering if Practice tests/questions are good indicators of what my score will actually be like on the real ACT?

Please share your experience of Better/Worse scores that you got on the actual ACT's than the Practice! Thanks!

Many people generally find they score 2 or so points below what they would on a practice test. It's not that the actual ACT test is harder, but that you're stressed.

and it also depends on wat practice tests ur taking....
I heard that the practice tests from the The Real ACT book are just like the real one.

Yeah, I hope I don't have too much stress on test day. Also, I am indeed using the red "Real SAT Prep" book for practice, however I've been using advices off Princeton's Review. (except for reading because I heard it's bad, so I use SparkNotes)

About the Science section though, sometimes I find it extremely easy to find the answer no matter how hard the reading and how complicated the graphs seem, then there are those questions with not-so-hard to understand topics yet I can't put them together. I know it's confusing but that's what it seems to me! (I really hope I don't run into the latter on the real ACT's :S)

Overall, they arn't bad predictions of scores, but certain sections might be off. My scores on the english, reading, and and math sections were pretty accurate. My science sections was a full 12 points lower on the real test than the practice though :(

My scores on the real act was 1.25 points higher than the practice test I took.
I guess I work better under pressure. I made like 4 stupid mistakes on my practice test, but I apparently didn't make any on the real test.

I know that for me, the Princeton Review practice test was WAY harder than the actual one. I got a 31 on English and a 27 on Math before I got frustrated and quit. Got 34s on both subjects on the actual test.

I usually score 2-3 points lower on practice tests than on the actual one. Usually on the practice tests I'm not really taking it seriously and if i make mistakes they're usually very stupid and careless. However on the Real test I have adrenaline pumping and i make sure to check my answers before going on

youll do better on the real one, just trust me...

are scores usually better in the real ACT than scores from The Real ACT Book?

I agree with coffeeicecream. Although it would make sense to score lower on the real test due to stress, most real examples I have seen show people scoring higher on the actual test than on practice tests. I assume this has to do with many factors like increased concentration, the test being easier than some test-prep exams, etc. I would guess that your composite score on the real thing would be anywhere from the same to 1-3 points higher than practice.

but are scores usually better in the real ACT than scores from The Real ACT Book?

There is no definite rule that works for everyone, but i would say that most people from my experience do slightly higher on the real ACT test than they do on the practice tests in the "REAL ACT BOOK." Keep in mind that The Real ACT Book is the best indicator of how you will do (because they are real ACT tests just like you will see) so the difference will probably be small but a 1 or 2 point ascent is very common. In general, people do better on the real tests than they do on practice tests, just based on what I have seen.
