are practice tests seriously harder than the real SAT?

Hi, I've heard people say that the practice tests they have taken are actually harder than the actual SAT. Is there any truth to that, or is that bullshiz? btw, if brand or w/e matters, then the practice tests that they and I are taking are from Kaplan.

i have found that the official sat study guide (the blue book) has the best practice tests because they are the closest to the real thing

Brand definately does matter... Princeton Review is a tad bit harder than the real SATs... I personally don't like Kaplan (the prep book)... but I found the test to be pretty much on par with the real thing
