Hey guys, I just have a quick question. Are books from the 2006-07 year good for exams taken this year? I'm buying the PR books for Stats and Chem, and the ones from the 2006-07 year are a lot cheaper than the 2010 versions. Or should I stick with an intermediate andget the 2008 or 2009 versions? Anyone have any experience with using old books for new exams?

bumppppppppppppppp

Bump was unnecessary, you were still on the first page…

I got the new versions only because I couldn’t find used ones. I got the 2010 PR versions for AP Chem and AP Physics B.

I got the 3rd edition for AP Psych.

As long as the exam hasn’t been revamped since the older edition of the book, you should be fine. For example, the AP Spanish Language exam was reformatted in 2007, so books published in 2006, 2005, etc. would not work.

Newer books tend to have more features (e.g. better answer explanations), but if money is an issue, older books should be good for the most part.

You should be able to get by on old books for most exams. Some exams have had changes in recent years, so you wouldn’t want to buy books from before those changes to the exams were made. However, the key ingredient to good review books are good review questions and decent material summaries and explanations. Most older books have that.

alright thanks for the advice guys, i think i’ll go with the older ones
