Are Questbridge partner colleges need-blind to QB finalists during the match process?

That is, is there a point in me ranking colleges if I don't think my family income is low enough to get matched?

Also, a college such as Wellesley already has a free online application, so do you think it's worth it to still apply to Wellesley through QB?

Well you won’t be ranking colleges unless you get finalist which you probably won’t get if your income is way too high for QB.

I’ve heard though that becoming a finalist isn’t too difficult (my family income is by no means considered high), since around 50% of applicants get in. It’s the percentage of match recipients that are decreasing year after year.

I was just wondering if after you become a finalist, partner colleges acknowledge that you’re low-income and do not dwell on HOW low and simply look at your application, OR they look at your financial situation as a deciding factor for whether to match you.

Since my income isn’t as low as, say, 20k, but not high by ANY means, I was just wondering if it would even be worth my time to apply for QB and rank colleges IF I become a finalist.

If you forward your QB app to partner schools for RD obviously they will know that you are low-income. That being said the schools are supposed to be need-blind and have plenty of money to give out for financial aid. If you are truly concerned you could choose not to forward your QB app RD if you don’t get matched.
