I applied like jan 30, a couple of days before the deadline. I've noticed that people are getting their decisions. Frankly, after not yet getting a decision and my name not showing up in that phone, I an extremely nervous. I know I'll get in but I am hoping there was not a missing part of the applicatib I did not send in.

Why don’t you send them an email asking them to verify your application is complete? No point worrying. Decisions are “rolling”. I imagine they got a lot of applications around the deadline and are taking a while to work their way through them, probably at a slower pace now that they see how many they have and may need to be more selective. Just speculation.

Don’t think they’re “just” realizing they need to be more selective. With the economy the way it is, they know they will be getting a lot more applicants because it’s relatively cheap. Don’t know the number for Uconn, but I heard Umass Amherst was up about 30% on applications received, guessing Uconn is pretty high too. Not sure what your stats are because you didn’t list them, but they are being a lot more selective so don’t get too confident (not saying you aren’t going to get in, but can’t say without seeing your stats).

I would definitely call them, but know that they did the same thing for EA applicants as well. Some of my friends heard 2 weeks before me, some heard a couple weeks after me, so it’ll be coming soon for you most likely.

I am sorry if I sounded pompous when I said I’ll get in. I know some of the kids from my school who got in ea had much worse stats than me. I am not saying UConn is a bad school or anything either; it’s the best public around the northeast and I will most likely end up there.

My stats are, btw, 3.75 unweighted, All honors/AP/classes at Wesleyan, 15/190 class rank, 680/690/700 sat.

Maybe they are considering your application for their honors program? I don’t know how selective it is…

hopefully. I am not that confident about that though.

The problem is your late application. This has been commented on in a number of state university threads where there are rolling admissions. Besides a record number of applicants they are assuming a high yield in these trying economic times. I would bet that many students have already sent in admissions deposits. Thus fewer and fewer spots are available. Good luck in any case.
