Currently I have completed 37 credits with a 3.68 GPA at a community college in NYC, I would like to know if the SAT scores are required for transfer student and will it be hard for me to get in being a OUT of state student with a 3.68 GPA? I'll be taking 15 credits this fall and by the time I apply I'll have 52 credits with projected 3.75+ G.P.A.

From W&M Admissions site (William & Mary - Application Process)

Additional application requirements include:
-official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
-official high school transcript or copy of GED certificate
-If you have completed less than a full year of college coursework when you apply, you must submit SAT or ACT scores. If you have been out of high school for more than five years, SAT or ACT scores are not required. Test scores listed on the high school transcript will be accepted.
-Mid-term grades and the Common Application's College Official's Report

Recommended Courses:
William & Mary recommends that students interested in transferring to the College take challenging courses in the liberal arts and sciences. Check our list of recommended courses to be sure you're on the right track. Typically, competitive transfer applicants have a GPA of 3.5 or higher at their current institution.

I transferred into The College and I can tell you that while the SAT scores are required, the fact that you will not be applying as a Freshman means that they will have much less of an effect on on your chances. The further you are into your college career the less High School numbers will matter. That said, your GPA puts you in a good position, but make sure you send in a unique and interesting application. People who can illustrate they are a well rounded and will bring something different to campus.

Good Luck.

Hi, i have completed two terms in my college and i have a cgpa of 3.4. I am currently studying in a country outside USA… I am planning to apply as a transfer student and will be writing my SAT on june 5… What SAT score will be good enough to get me into one of the top universities? I’m looking for an economics major… In the top 20-30 colleges… Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated =) Thanks!

SATs are required for transfers who have completed fewer than two full-time semesters at the time of application. They are considered more for those who have less completed college course work.
