Are SAT Subject Tests still recommended for those applying with an ACT score?

I read on the Brown website that they recommend submitting two SAT Subject Test scores, but I’ve read elsewhere that they’re only required if you apply with an SAT score instead of an ACT score. Are they still recommended for those applying with an ACT score? If so, would it still be advantageous to submit the Subject Test scores if they aren’t fantastic, or would it be better to not submit scores that are less than ideal? Thanks in advance for the help!

Brown has recently changed their standardized testing policy. In its most updated form, it is as follows:

“Applicants can satisfy Brown’s testing requirements in one of two ways: (1) Either the SAT with essay, or (2) the ACT with writing. We recommend, but do not require, the submission of two SAT Subject Tests of your choice.”

So yes, it would be a good idea to take SAT Subject Test exams, do your best, and submit the scores.
