I'm a UIUC student majoring in computer engineering. I would like to transfer to private schools e.g. Cornell , Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Duke, etc.

I maintain a 4.0 GPA, tons of clubs, activities, volunteers, but my SAT was really low, it was just 2010. SAT II physics 700, math 1 800 and math 2 800.

At all but Cornell, where they are optional for transfers, they will still really matter. Many schools will allow you to retake–check with each on your list.

i mean, is 2010 still ‘okay’ with my 4.0 GPA and tons of activities to gain admission to say, Northwestern or Cornell? or it will hurt my chances?
I’m too lazyyyyyyy to take SAT again! lol… whaddaya think?

Re: #2 above, the transfer requirements vary by the college at Cornell that one is applying to. This grid indicates that Architecture, CAS and Engineering require the exams, provided only that you took them before. Whereas at the other colleges the prior exams are listed as, variously, optional or not required.

A computer science major would either be in CAS or engineering, in either case the prior tests must be submitted. The extent to which, once submitted, they “matter”, ie are given weight in the transfer admissions decision. at any of these universities, I’ve no idea.
