I was just diagnosed with an IBD. Fast food is out indefinitely (the food court) and the only things I can eat at bruff would be (possibly, the pasta), fruit, soy milk and cooked vegetables. I don't feel this is going to provide me with what I need for a balanced diet and it certainly isn't worth the cost... As I live in Aron apartments, I'd like to cook for myself, using cookbooks designed for my disease. Does Tulane give seniors the option of opting out of a meal plan, or do you have to fight it?

I am almost certain that only freshman and sophomores are required to have meal plans, since they are required to live on campus. I don’t think juniors or seniors are obligated even if they are living on campus, since they could have opted for off campus if they had wanted and, as you say, Aron apartments have kitchens. Here is some backup for my statement: [Tulane University - Meal Plan](http://tulane.edu/studentaffairs/housing/resources/meal-plan.cfm) The first FAQ on here also seems to say (by omission) that 3rd and 4th years are not required to use a meal plan: [Dining Services](<a href=“Tulane Dining Services”>Tulane Dining Services)

My son is also in Aaron and he did not take any meal plan this year. He is also a senior.

My DS (a graduating senior) hasn’t had a meal plan since soph. year.
Feel better. IBS is no fun. You do not need to take the meal plan.
