are subject tests important?

I have two subject tests, a 690 in math IIc, and a 600 on bio, should i take a third or am I fine? I'm not applying to engineering but possibly for a b.s. degreee

elliott34,

I provided an answer to a question about SAT II's in a previous thread that you should definitely look over. Here's what I told the CC user sleeplessinbost back on 8/23/06:

<<< You are correct that, "The results of SAT Subject Tests are recommended, but not required for admission. Some academic departments will use scores from these tests for placement purposes."

SATII scores are treated as "bonus material" in one's application. They really can't hurt one's chances of admission (unless the scores are abysmal - below 500 by Lafayette standards). Just taking them shows initiative, discipline, and effort on the part of an applicant. It would seem that he/she was approaching the college application process with some level of seriousness. >>>

In response to your question, there is no need to take a third SAT II for admission to Lafayette, unless you are certain you can score above a 650 on that third exam.

I did take three subject tests, they were Bio E, Math II and WH. You should be fine with two, though. Lafayette does not mandate that you take SAT subject tests

thank you, and apologies for not looking that up.

wow you're from wycoff justin? I live in a town very very close by.

elliott34,

No worries. The thread that post came from is more than thirty pages long, so I hadn't expected you to read through it all (I used the search feature, myself).

Small world, huh? If you wouldn't mind, send me a PM with the name of your hometown. I'm curious to know where you're from!
