Are the CommonApp Essays always the same?

<p>This is probably a really stupid question but I want to make sure. </p>

<p>Last year (September 2011), I printed out the CommonApp as a junior just to see how it was and what I would need to fill out soon. I was talking to my guidance saying that I looked over the essays to see what I might need to do. He told me that I shouldn't get started that early since they always change (my memory might just be tricking me). But then I see posts on the forum saying the topics for the CA. </p>

<p>So do they always have the same essays? HELP and thanks!</p>

<p>From what I’ve seen, I believe they’re the same five questions each year.</p>

<p>There’s a preview available of the 2012-2013 Common App on their website. The esssay questions haven’t changed recently. Plus, one option is “topic of your choice.” The school-specific supplemental essays vary a little more from year to year.</p>

<p>The 2012-13 Common Application essay topics will be the same as 2011-12 (the year we are about to conclude).</p>
