Are the dorms as bad as they look?

The dorms online aren't really the greatest...but don't forget that American is an institution on the rise to greatness so it really isn't at its full potential yet. I stayed in a dorm for 10 nights over the summer, so I can share with you some of my experiences.

-They aren't huge, but I found that I could easily fit at least 2-3 weeks worth of clothes in the closets/drawers.
-The rooms themselves are decently sized, and the air conditioning/heat is powerful (which was good esp after hours outside in the 95 degree heat).
-The beds were comfortable and I slept extremely well.
-The desks held a ton of stuff, even more than my home one did.
-There are no bathrooms in the rooms themselves (at least not in Leonard), but instead there are shower stalls. Whenever I previously experienced showerstalls, they were either boiling or freezing one minute to the enxt. At AU I was able to spend more than 2 seconds in there before being scorched or made into the human icicle and the water pressure was delightful.
-They have a number of take-out lists in the lobbies as well as couches, chairs, and Leonard has a TV/game lounge.
-The windows are big and offer pleasant views of the surroundings
-OH! The fire sprinklers rarely go off so the water has been sitting up in there for a while...if they go off I heard the water is brown.

Otherwise, they were great and I loved living there for 10 days and most likely will live there for the next 4 years providing I don't get into NYU.
