Are the following schools safeties for me?

Ok, I'm not going to do a full chance profile thing but I will give you the essence of my stats. I was wondering if the following schools are pretty good safeties (or at least likelies),meaning I would probably get in barring some odd circumstance. I would be happy attending any of these schools...

Colgate University
Hamilton College
Connecticut College
George Washington University

Here are my basic stats:

2150 SAT I (650 CR, 750 M, 750 W)
780 SAT II Math, 770 SAT II US History, 720 SAT II Spanish
GPA: 4.4 (School only calculates weighted, max weighted is 4.5)

Freshman Courses: Honors English 9 (A/A), Honors World History 1 (A/A), Honors Bio (A/A), Honors Geometry (A/A), Honors Spanish II (A/A)

Sophomore Courses: Honors English 10 (A-/A), Honors World History 2 (A/A), Honors Chem (A-/A-), Honors Algebra 2 (A/A), Honors Spanish III (A/A)

Junior Courses: Honors English 11 (A-/A), AP English Language (A-/A/4), AP US History (A-/A/5), Honors Precalculus (A-/A-), Honors Spanish IV (A/A), AP Comp Gov (A/A/5)

Senior Courses: AP English Literature, AP Calc BC, AP Euro, AP Spanish Lit, Honors Physics, some other honors elective

Strong ECs but nothing super amazing, leadership in quite a few of my ECs (I will be able to convey that I am actually passionate about these), very strong essays, strong recs

Caucasian Male from Massachusetts

BTW for a frame of reference the other colleges I am applying to are Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, Chicago, Amherst, Swat, Williams, Middlebury, and Tufts

Those are all extremely competitive colleges - yes, less competitive than some of your other schools, but not even close to safeties.

In-state options can sometimes make good safeties depending on which state you live in, and if those don’t interest you, you’ll need to start looking at much less selective LACs. Also, consider whether or not you have a financial safety.

Thanks for the response, but on what basis are you answering?

I am pretty confident that at least Conn Coll and GWU are pretty solid safeties because I am above the 75th percentile SAT medians and they both take 37 percent of applicants.

Colgate and Hamilton may be closer to likelies (lower matches) but I still think I have a pretty good chance there.

Money is not a factor.

While it is wrong to say those schools are not even close to safeties, they are more like matches whereas the other schools are reaches. It’s hard to predict these things, honestly.

Can you afford all those schools? No school is a safety if you can’t afford it.

You posted the following on April 3rd, so what exactly is your motive, here?
According to this, you are attending Wesleyan.

Accepted:
Yale
Princeton
UPenn
Tufts
Johns Hopkins
UVA
Rochester
Wesleyan (attending)
Colgate
Hamilton
Connecticut College

Waitlisted:
WashU

Rejected:
Harvard
Northeastern
Tulane

How on earth were you accepted to Yale and Princeton, but rejected at Northeastern??

If you are a Junior how do you have your AP scores?

pretty shady…

Lol… he’s probably one of those people who, er, “shares accounts”.

Which is, of course, against the rules.

@SLUMOM- That was my sister’s post. This is her account, but I had to post this one thing and did not want to go through the trouble of making a new account.

@Schmisar- Tuft’s Syndrome. Obviously they knew she would not attend. Besides, I don’t think she put much effort into the app for Northeastern because she didn’t really like the school and only applied to make our parents happy because they both went there. She knew that if she got rejected from all her matches/reaches she would go to Conn, Colgate, or Hamilton- not Northeastern.

@pch340- It’s a weird situation. Basically, I was a junior last year. The grades and AP Scores are from that year. However, you would think if I am not a junior I must be a senior then I would already know where I am matriculating. Well, I am not a senior either. I am taking a year off between junior and senior year for physical & mental health problems I had last year, and I am doing something else during this time. The classes for next year are my planned that I have signed up for. My SATI score is from my junior year and my SATII scores are from this current year that I am taking off.

@dblazer- I am assuming since I cleared it all up so you shouldn’t have a problem anymore. If there is still anything that seems shady to you, let me know and I will explain.

@Marine Bio Sax-Like I said not really sharing accounts. This is just one post by me and the rest of the account is my sister’s. Don’t really see how that is against the rules, and even if it is, why it effects you.

Any other input? I will add my awards…
Cum Laude (School)
Highest Honor Roll All 3 Years (School)
National Merit Scholar
AP Scholar

My extracurriculars are quite strong and my essays/recs are very good. Also I am a really good communicator so I am sure my interview will go very well.
